Now, would you like to get this class for FREE? Place an order for at least $150 by Friday August 10th!  Make sure you include the Snail Adhesive, refill and Dimensional adhesive dots in your order and bring them to class.  When you reach the $150 threshold for your order, you earn 10% in reward dollars – you can order up to that amount in product, or purchase one of the exclusive Hostess level stamp sets at the back of the catalog!  These Hostess level stamp sets are already discounted – to give you even MORE bang for your buck.

Intro to Project Life

I am so excited to introduce a class to you – Intro to Project Life – Scrapbooking in an afternoon. First of all, I will admit I am NOT a scrapbooker – WAAYYYYY too much time to create Just-that-perfect-page! And even the lure of quick scrapbooking with Project Life faded fast because, once again, toooooo much time (even with pocket pages) to create just-that-perfect-PROJECTLIFE-page! But, never fear the LIGHT has come ON! I have figured out the perfect WAY to do Project Life! …and I have put together a great class to introduce you to the MAGIC!  The class kit includes a 6″x8″ Project Life (PL) binder, 12 6″x8″ assorted PL pocket pages, One of two themed PL sets (stamp set, cards & accessories).  During the class, we will fill ALL 12 pages with cards, embellishments, and your photos.  There is plenty of room in the binder for more pages, if you want to add more later, and there will be plenty left over of the themed cards & accessories for that as well.  All supplies will be provided (coordinating color card stock, inkpads, markers, dies, adhesives) for use during class time.  The class will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5th, from Noon – 3pm at the Art Gallery of Fells Point (1716 Thames St., Baltimore, MD  21231), the cost is $80 per person, and anyone signing up for the class by August 25th will receive a FREE journaling pen!  The fine print: prepayment is required at signup.  No refunds for cancellations or missing the class – the kit and all class handouts will be provided to you after the class is held.  Message or email me to register for the class.  Payment can be sent via Paypal or I can email a Square invoice.  Registration will be confirmed when payment is completed.

Another Thank You

Bordering on Romance has taken my studio by storm!  I really like the simple lines that can be used as is, colored in, or, as in this card, embossed.  The card is Riding Hood Red, and the stamp embossed in white embossing powder.  I sponged over the embossing in real red, and wiped it off the embossed part with a soft cloth.  The dark area near the inside of each petal is bravo burgandy, then blended with pink pirouette.  You can’t see the pink, it just blends the burgandy strokes more softly.  A little Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink in Moonlight filled in the small blossoms.  A final pearl accent on the centers of the flowers is the finishing touch.

I added two details to the card that are a little unusual.  Can you pick them out?  I’ll describe how to make them in tomorrow’s post!

Until then…Keep Calm and Find Yourself a Rubber Stamp!

Bordering on Romance Thank You

Recently, there was a blog tour on the Exclusive Stampin’ Up Demonstrator site, SUDSOL.  One of the cards in particular using the Bordering On Romance set and Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, “called” to me!  Both the stamp set and paper are available in the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog.  The original design (Thanks, Cristyne!) is here.

There are lots of “crafty” details to this card that make it a “WOW”!

The first is the coloring technique – you could use Stampin’ Up’s great markers, watercolor pencils, watercolor crayons, or even ink up a brush from the stamp pad or reinker.

If you are using any of the water-based inks to fill in the flowers, then you will need to stamp the image with black Staz-on so the ink doesn’t run.

These are the SU markers that I used on the sample below.

To illustrate the steps, I used Blushing Bride on all 3 flowers, then Pretty In Pink just on the part of the petals nearest the center for the top flower and right-hand flower, then finally, Regal Rose on the right-hand flower.  You can see the color difference of the layering effect – the little circle on the far right is Regal Rose by itself.

After the Regal Rose step, I went back with Pink Pirouette and tried to blend the layers a little better.  To get the darker ink off the brush tip of Pink Pirouette, I would just swipe it against my finger or scrap paper as I went along.  In retrospect, I could have used a damp Q-Tip to blend the colors a little more.  Here is the final product:

Tomorrow:  the rest of the story – pink pearls and envelope envy!

Until then…Keep Calm and Find Yourself a Rubber Stamp!

Valentine Schmalentine!

Here it is as I promised!!! Valentine Schmalentine!  Just to prove there is something for EVERYONE on Valentine’s Day.  I saw this phrase somewhere in my travels, and could not get it out of my mind.  The font is “Black Adder ITC” – think it was a font included in one of the software packages on my laptop, because I did not download it specifically.  The cherub stamp, pleated ribbon and smooch spritz (I keep wanting to type “SCHPRITZ”! LOL) are all from the new Occasions Mini Catalog.  I did the printing right on Stampin’ Up’s Shimmery White Card Stock, and it printed beautifully!  I positioned it so that I could cut 4 cardfronts from the paper.  You can do this in any word processing program, even MDS (My Digital Studio), however I am a Corel Draw gal from wayyyy back, so that is what I set this up in.  If anyone would like specific instructions, please feel free to contact me.

I am in the process of setting up a special section on my blog that features content only available to my newsletter subscribers.  Detailed instructions for all of my cards will be there, as well as a few other surprises.  Where do you subscribe?  Well keep tuned as I have a February 15th startup date planned for that.  To celebrate, I will have a bunch of give-aways, and it is all FREE!!!

If you’re not sure about subscribing, not to worry, I will still have posts just like this available to everyone!  You can decide to sign up later on if you get CURIOUS! 😉

Until next time…Keep Calm and Find Yourself a Rubber Stamp!

Be My Valentine Card 2

Here’s the 2nd card we will be doing at the workshop!

Be My Valentine Designer Cuts

While it looks complicated, it is quite easy and the Fiddley Quotient is “Low” 🙂

The REALLY good news is that the embossing folder is FREE! through the Sale-A-Bration promotion that JUST started this week!  We have a new Occasions Mini Catalog that has recently been released, too and some of these yummy embellishments are from that catalog.

Reminder – Workshop on Sunday, Jan 29, 1-4pm!  If you would like to attend, please call (443-326-1365) or email (patriciabaker18@hotmail.com).

Until next time…Keep Calm and Find Yourself a Rubber Stamp!

Valentine Workshop – Jan 29th

Here is one of the cards we will be making in the first workshop to be held at Studio Stampaloozathis coming Sunday, Jan 29th, from 1pm to 4pm.  For any readers who don’t know, my studio is in the (historic) Crown Cork and Seal Factory in the Greektown area of Baltimore City.  There is plenty of free parking, and it is only 3 blocks from Eastern Ave.  The address is 4401 Eastern Ave, but that is misleading because the entrance is actually on Fait Ave.  Here is a map that may help.

The charge for this class is $10 and we will make 2 cards, have beverages and a nosh, and lots of cameraderie.  I do have a surprise gift for the first 10 folks to sign up.  Since this is a Stampin’ Up event, I will have the 2012 Idea Book and Catalog available, as well as a 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog and the 2012 Sale-A-Bration Catalog for each participant.  Would you like to take the workshop for FREE?  Anyone placing an order for $25 (of product) or more can have their $10 fee applied to the order! Please call me (443-326-1365) or email (patriciabaker18@hotmail.com) to reserve your spot in the workshop!

Be sure to check in to tomorrow’s post for the 2nd card we will be making!

Until then,,,,Keep Calm and Find Yourself a Rubber Stamp!
